It's really good that you realize that you did something wrong and are still considering telling your ex-husband even though you are no longer married.

Ouch! I think it is admirable that you considering telling your ex-husband. I suppose you are right when you say that cheaters never prosper.
  • Katie Harte (Jun23 2008)
I agree with the other two comments that it is good that you get it off your chest. I also agree you should have told him earlier.

Well, it is not a bad thing to feel bad about it. You need to decide if telling your ex is really going to be a good idea. Maybe a religious friend would be better.

Sometimes it helps to get the guilt out in the open and hear yourself mouth the words that you feel regret. I believe this is the best therapy. Good for you!

It's good to get your feelings out on erful. Being able to talk about your feelings is good and perhaps one day you may be able to tell him.

What is the meaning or description of cheating? Is it feelings or actions, morally or immorally. It should be to each individual on the meaning and purpose of cheating. No one can tell you what to do with you own feelings and beliefs. Sometimes gut feelings will lead you to the path you need to take. If the incident makes you uncomfortable, then relief that pressure and tell him. It is always better to be honest with yourself even though sometimes it will hurt others.

I know that everyone slips up every now and then. Don't beat yourself up about it. You're divorced so you don't owe him anything!

I think it's so good of you that you feel guilty about something like that. Most people try to justify their actions, and won't even feel guilty for doing something huge! It is good to know that there are people like you out there who are able to be honest with themselves and admit when they've done something wrong. Everyone makes mistakes, and most people make mistakes much worse than yours. Thanks for sharing!

everyone thinks that the grass is greener on the other side....after experiences we learn that it often isn't. great strength...

Coming clean about something like that is hard, but being on his end of things, I can pretty much guarantee you that he's probably had an inkling. And believe me, the knowing but not knowing is so much worse than the truth. The truth you can work through, lies and deceit accomplish nothing.

Thanks for sharing your feelings. Unfortunitly this happens more often in marriages than it should. Why can't people stay faithful to a partner? I wish I knew, have been in similar situations as she has.
