Create an Account

Just visit our Create Account page and fill in the required information. We require only basic information, but your mobile phone number is very important. Your phone number will only be used to add your new recordings to your account.

Modifying an Account

Visit your My earfl page to modify your account. You can access it at any time via the 'My earfl' tab.

Tell a Story

Call 415.223.3802 from the phone you listed in your profile during registration. Your call will be automatically associated with your account. Talk for up to three minutes. The next time you log in at earfl.com, you will see your story on your My earfl page. You can add tags, upload a photo and write a short description for each story. It's easy to share stories too; just click on the 'Share a Story' link.

Manage a Story

After you create a story, you can easily add details to make it even better, including a photo, title, description and tags. To change a photo for a particular story, simply choose the delete photo button and upload a new one.

Adding a Photo

To add a photo, simply click the "Add Photo" button and either choose a photo from your local computer or enter a tag and let Flickr help you find one. Remember, photos must be less than 1.5 MB.

When using Flickr, remember that tags are like keywords. If your search doesn't produce any results, try something else. Once you find a photo you like, simply click on it and we’ll attach it to your recording.

Finding a Story

There are lots of ways to find a story on earfl. Use the Search box (near the top-right of the page) to find words used in story titles, descriptions and tags. You can also visit user profile pages to browse stories contributed from specific users.

Redeem a Recording

If you don't have an account or want to call in from a non-registered phone, no problem. earfl will record your story and then provide you with a redemption code. To claim your story and associate it with your account, just click the Redeem Recording link and enter your code.

Tags

Tags are keywords that you can add to a story to make it easier to find later. You can tag a photo with phrases like "Isabel, beach, Stinson." For example, if you want to find all stories that have been tagged with the word "beach", just click on the "beach" tag, and start listening.

You also have the ability to add tags to other people's stories. Help make a great story easier to find by tagging it with useful category names or search terms.

We automatically remove spaces from tags in order to make searching more efficient. So if you enter "San Francisco", you will see "sanfrancisco" displayed. As you get more familiar with tags, you can just remove the spaces yourself.

When using multiple tags, please separate them with commas. Whenever possible, singularize your tags: "tree" rather than "trees".
