I'm a guy, but this is still really sweet. I know a lot of people who don't have strong connections to their parents/kids, and the fact that you do is great.

This is a very sweet story. It so nice that your relationship is so strong with your daughter, some are not so lucky.

I love that you got to walk your daughter, my daughter is 2 and I can only imagine the day I attend her wedding. I have the same type of relationship with my mother-in-law. Congradulations on becoming a new Grandma, and I hope she has a very easy pregnancy too. Thank you for sharing a great story.

I'm one of those people who think once a woman is married that the husband becomes the best friend and prior to this it should be those of her own peer group. Sometimes it is difficult for mothers and daughters to let go but let go you must for the sake of the adult daughter and for the mother's sake. A daughter who becomes a wife should cleave to her husband and share things of the heart with him in a healthy relationship. Mothers can be there for comfort and advice as mothers but, there is something rather unsettling about being in a best friends mother/daughter relationship especially...if telling about her honeymoon, first wedding night and first climax or no climax!

Sandra, I am sorry that you have experienced the type of relationship that I have with my daughter. It is no way interferes or inpinges on either of our marriages. But she is of me, from with and always with me. That is something that no spouse can bring to a relationship. It adds to both of our lives and doesn't detract from our marriages or our other friendships.
